Carving spoons is a great way to discover the beauty of wood and the satisfaction of using quality tools. A hand carved spoon can be as imaginative as you want it to be, the secret is to let the features of the wood determine the design.

This class is a great introduction to using carving tools and getting the feel of working with wood. Through the making your spoon, Carol will cover basic carving techniques as well as tool sharpening and timber finishing. All tools and materials are provided so just bring your imagination and a smile. Absolute beginners are very welcome.

Carol Russell has been a furniture maker, restorer and teacher for the last 25 years, she has fairly recently become obsessed with carving and whittling spoons, believing they offer the perfect balance between form and function.

Because we are a small business with artisan teachers it makes it difficult to refund your tickets, however we are able to arrange for an alternative class of the same nature when it becomes available. Thank you for understanding.
