THE WORKSHOP

There’s something very satisfying about being able to make something with with you own hands. In this class Carol will show you how to carve a soft cheese knife from wood using only a few hand tools. Using primarily a whittling knife you can choose you style: primitive, rustic or more refined. there are some wonderful timbers to choose from and you’ll end up with one or more beautiful things to keep or pass on as a treasured gift.

Wooden utensils designed for serving and cooking are referred to as Treen. The term means literally “of a tree” and includes wooden spoons, knives, plates, bowls and cheeseboards. Learning to make your own is incredibly satisfying and creative. You don’t need to have any woodworking experience to join our classes, just a desire to give it a try and go where the wood takes you
